The Christian Paleo Eater?

One more than one Paleo/Primal forum, you will find some sort of debate about Christians shouldn't be on a P/P eating plan.  That, if a Christian is accepting of the P/P lifestyle, they are not really Christians.  Seriously?

I find this fascinating.  Mainly because someone who has their own faith, in this case, evolution, would actually tell someone that they aren't being true to their beliefs (Christianity).  How would an Evolutionist even know?  If you believe in evolution, that's your choice.  If I believe in the saving power of Jesus Christ, that's my choice.  Do either of these beliefs have anything to do with how someone eats?  How many Muslims also follow a P/P eating plan?  Do they get put out because we go on and on about the greatness of bacon?  And if they do, are we going to be PC about it, and stop talking about how great bacon is?  No.

There is no perfect way to be P/P.  Just the fact we can use the Paleo/Primal terms interchangeably kinda shows this.  But, does this have anything to do with someones personal faith.

Science isn't an island unto itself.  How the human body works (whether by design or evolution) is what is important.  If the research goes back "millions" of years, who cares?  If you really think about it, it's a guessing game anyway.  No one living now was there then.  10,000 year ago...fine, there is no one who is 10,000 years old.  Just like no one was there on Day One of Creation (Adam and Eve didn't show up until Day 6).  We all have our faith.

Personally, I am a young Earth Creationist.  God created the world/universe in 6 days.  Adam and Eve were created on Day 6, along with all the land animals, including dinosaurs.  I believe what the Bible tells me (yes, people, that book of "fairy tales").  Why would this change the fact that I feel better, am losing weight, and finding a better and more healthy way to live?

Did Noah hop off the ark and stop at the local grocery store for a loaf of bread and a bottle of Pepsi?  No.  There was no wheat that was ready for harvest and milling.  He and the others had to start growing crops, and probably not atop of the Ararat Mountain range.  What did they eat?  How about the animals that they set free?  How about foraging around for the newly growing plants in the area?  See?  Paleo eating!

Looking even further back, Adam and Eve both ate plants of the wild, none of which were "bread".  The Garden of Eden was full of edible plants (and seeds), and for the exception of one, they were told to eat and enjoy.  They may have not been hunting then (that came after the fall), but they were gathering.

Look, if you have your issues with Christianity, that's between you and God.  If you want to believe that gold fish should be worshipped, worship away (and don't eat your god).  Don't tell someone they can't be something just because you don't think they mesh.

A health forum is not a place to hate on people.  It should be a place to guide the newbies, to have in-house debates about cheese and nightshades and diet soda.  Believing in Jesus, or Mohammad, or Zeus, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster doesn't mean that you can't be living a healthy and happy P/P lifestyle.

I am a Christian.  I eat Paleo.
